Well Water Testing, Inspection, & Clorination

Both natural sources and human activities can contaminate wells and cause short or long term health effects.  You cannot taste, see or smell most contaminates.  The Minnesota Department of Health recommends testing your water.  Thankfully there are some quick and easy tests Hartmann Well Drilling can take to make sure you know what is in your water.

Reasons to get your water tested:

  • Your water’s taste, look, or smell has changed recently
  • There is a history of contamination in the area
  • Recent septic system malfunction
  • If there are infants or young children in your home
  • You are selling your home
  • Your well has recently flooded

Well Chlorination

Hartmann Well Drilling water testing

One thing well water does not have that city water does is chlorination. Chlorination kills harmful bacteria including coliform and can help eliminate odors in your water.

You should consider chlorination if:

  • You just installed a new well
  • The area around your home was recently flooded
  • Installed new waterlines or made well repairs
  • Recent water test shows the presence of coliform bacteria
